
Rain Dear is honored to be one of ten Nordic fashion brands invited to participate in the Nordic Look at The Fashion Industry Fair in St. Petursburg from 15 - 18 March 2012. The participation of the Nordic designers in the exhibition is aimed at supporting Nordic-Russian Professional contacts in the fashion industry. The brands have been chosen on the basis of the competitive selection. The collections will be shown at two catwalks on 15 of March at 15:00 and on 16 of March at 11:30.
The Nordic Fashion Biennale started today in the the Nordic Heritage Museum in Seattle. The 2011 Nordic Fashion Biennale is being produced by the Nordic House, Reykjavik and the Nordic Heritage Museum. The highlight of the Nordic Fashion Biennale is an exhibition, Looking Back to Find our Future, curated by New York-based Icelandic artist Hrafnhildur Arnardottir. Arnardottir is well known for her collaboration with Björk and for her commissioned work for the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Looking Back to Find our Future will include fashion and jewelry from Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Sweden, and Norway. Cutting-edge contemporary fashion, design, and installations throughout the Museum will blur past and present, highlighting traditions of craft and creativity in Nordic design. The exhibition will demonstrate how important the influences of nature and heritage are for Nordic designers.

Associations of women entrepreneurs in Iceland (KVENN) and the European Union Women Inventors & Innovators Network held an impressive international conference in Iceland from 7 - 8 September 2011. The purpose of the conference was to bring attention to inventions and entrepreneurship of women from all around the world.
